I'm crazy about nature's art in this Picture. It almost looks like a mini Grand Canyon.
Råbjerg Mile is a protected area, so it is allowed to continue drifting freely. However, if left to its own devices, Råbjerg Mile will cover the main road to Skagen in 100 years. And all the abandoned farms that has been covered with sand will appear Again. It must be exciting to explore it.
When you go for a walk in this North Jutland desert you can once in a while spot patterns of dark sand. It is sand that is rich in heavy metals and not oil, as some will believe. There were lots of these unique patterns when I was there. The locals calls heavy sand for a more poetic name, Exactly: "star dust!" The heavy sand weighs more than the white quartz sand, and therefore it is deposited together in strips or stains
