The Chicago Botanic Gardens has many types of cacti in its tropical room. As I walked through this area, I noticed one that looked like it had a very bad wound and the healing process only went so far, leaving “scarring” on the plant. Next to the cactus was an aloe plant reaching up toward the sun and had wrapped on of its many “arms” around the wounded cactus as if to say “it’ll be OK…I’m here for you”. I went back a couple of months later...the gardeners cut off the aloe plant's "arm" wrapped around the injured cactus!
