Behind The Lens

Location

I shoot this photo in front of a white wall in the living room of my home. I just wan´t to be focussed on the model, nothing that disturbes the "intimacy" of this point of view, like the title of this photo states.

Time

It was a spontanious shoot on a sunday morning.

Lighting

Just one octabox 90 cm, I like to have soft light fotr the "softness" of the picture idea.

Equipment

Canon 6D with 85 mm f/1,8 Canon portrait lens.

Inspiration

I just like a sensual style when I shoot models, this is just a further try to Show this.

Editing

Post was only a bit of standard beauty retouching, some colour grading and a bit of vignetting, in the end a slight sharpening.

In my camera bag

Very different equipment, because I try to shoot a wide range of Images, not only People, I even like landscapes, buildings, and astrophotography. So I have a Canon 6D for all this shoots, a modified Sony a7s for the astrophotography. Lenses from Canon 400 mm f/5,6 for animal shots to Canon L 16 - 35 mm f/4 for the landscapes and the Canon 85 mm f/1,8 for people shoots and a small tripod if I shoot some bracketing rows in buildings. For the astrophotography I use a APO refractor telescope 80/480mm f/6 on an EQ5 Mount plus some further electronics for control this.

Feedback

For people photography I think anything and any place is good, you just have to look that you don´t have a harsh light, except you like to have some "Film Noir" styled Pictures. If you use a flash, just try what the light does, this is the best way to learn. For landscapes and buildings you have to use a stable tripod, but not to heavy to stay mobile. Shoot astrophotos in a very dark area for getting the hightest possible contrast. Find dark areas isn´t easy nowadays, but possible.
