John Deere tractors, once heavily used, now stowed away, always lovingly cared for, fill this barn in Galena, Maryland. Several old vehicles like this Volkswagen Beetle and Ford F-1 pickup, no longer driven but still in good condition, also reside here. A thin layer of dust has built up, but the modern farm equipment still rumbling outside the doors doesn't let these tenderly cherished machines forget their purpose. The warm photo filter and posterization applied to this shot symbolize the veil through which many of us look at things we gaze at from a distance rather than engage.
