Standing right next to Millenium Park, what was once the Chicago Public Library is still a wonder for the public, available to wander for free admission. Now the Chicago Cultural Center, this East Washington Street building features two stunning stained-glass domes. Pictured is a Healy-Millet marvel, which, believe it or not, is not the less famous one. It is an impressive, colorful work of art, though, and covers the rotunda of the former Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) Memorial Hall honoring the Northern soldiers who had fought in the Civil War.
