Behind The Lens

Location

We were just having a casual wander through Hyde Park a few days before our daughter’s wedding when we stopped to enjoy the lake and those on boats.

Time

We were here much of the morning on what I view as one of those rare crystal clear sunny days in England. Everyone, ducks included, were out soaking up the sun.

Lighting

Mid morning sunlight or late afternoon are both prime times for shooting. If I’m

Equipment

Nikon 90D, no flash or tripod, 18-200 lens

Inspiration

Inspiration for the photo came from the multitude of colors found in the water!

Editing

The image was cropped and a polarised filter applied (minimally) in Luminar- other effects courtesy of Mother Nature.

In my camera bag

I do most of my photography when traveling so I rarely carry more than the 18-200 lens and my Nikon.

Feedback

There was no planning for this photo other than being hyper aware of the possibilities that the natural light might present. I love reflections created by water so my eye is always searching for an image. It’s a prime example of composition and natural light over camera and accessories.
