Spotted Eagle Owl - Mabuasehube Pan, Kgalagadi, Botswana. This owl and her chick were located in the base camp that we used alongside the pan. For me, this was a big bonus as I've been wanting to get a shot of an owl for such a long time and here was one in our camp.
When disturbed, these owls raise their ear-tufts and narrow their eyes, which is exactly what this one is doing.
Pairs remain together for life.
