Cheetahs are my favorite cat - so majestic. And you caught this one eyes on with tongue out. Precious. The shallow DOF really adds to the shot with the blurred background and even a golden glow on the belly.

Around 6PM as the sun was setting.Lighting
It was that magical hour close to sunset, with soft silhouette light.Equipment
Canon 5D MKIII with Sigma 120-300 f2.8 lens + a sigma 2x converter giving the lens 240 - 600mm. Unable to use a tripod due to the confines of the Jeep that we were travelling in. Camera was hand held to get this shot. No flash was used, but used the following camera settings. ISO 1,250 along with an aperture of f5.6 and a shutter speed of 1/500.Inspiration
That the fact that we had come across the cheetah and others at sunset resulting in this great silhouette shot. One is not often presented with this kind of opportunity in the African bush.Editing
Did some cropping along with exposure adjustment in Aperture 3.In my camera bag
I normally have two cameras one attached to a zoom lens and the other attached to a prime lens. This is provides me with a lot of flexibility when a I need it in the bush.Feedback
In the bush, make the minimum of amount of noise as animals hear you from afar. Stay downwind when tracking them. Always engage the services of an experienced local guide.This will make life a lot easier. Always carry a fully charged battery along with spare cards and a pen to keep your lens clean.
