This is the first of a series of self portraits. Since puberty I have always been afraid of the camera. I couldn't have posters on my wall because of the fear that they were watching me change. My personality conflicts with fear, I'm a bold aggressive individual, therefore I tend to face my fears. I started by putting myself behind the camera and becoming a photographer. I feel like enough time has passed since I first picked up my camera when I was 9 years old. Today is the first step for me in confidence building so that one day I won't be so afraid of being in front of the camera. Photography is my life and I should not be afraid of it.
