Behind The Lens

Location

This shot was taken in Lisbon, Portugal inside the electricity museum and it was the first shot of mine that I really liked!

Time

It was around 3 pm me and my girlfriend ( the person in the photo) were walking around and visiting museums the whole morning and this was the last location and photos of the "morning"

Lighting

The sun was at the perfect height I swear to god it made the shadows exactly where I wanted them to be plus I want the silhouette of the windows so you could see outside but not the person in photo

Equipment

I used my Pentax K20D and the lens 18-55 f/4 to take this shot no tripod no flash nothing else just me and my old camera

Inspiration

Actually my girlfriend had a big part on this shot I saw the windows but I didn't notice the shadows on the floor she inspired me and told me to step back and look at the surroundings, a p.hoto isn't just pressing a button, a photographer is one that sees details that a "normal" person doesn't

Editing

Yes I did! But not too much. I fixed some dirty stop on the camera sensor and changed a bit of the blacks, saturation and clarity all of this to make the silhouette pop out and make the outside of the window really colorful and detailed

In my camera bag

I'm a minimalist! I carry what I think I need for the place where I'm going but 99.9% of the times it consists of my Pentax K20D body with my 2 lenses the pentax 18-55mm f/4 and my tamron 70-300mm with a UV and polarized filter. Then I always carry my tripod. And finally my skate to get around if I'm in a rush for the sunset shot

Feedback

This photo is all about lighting (as every photo), timing and looking around for details. Do not just press the button and go home! Take 50-100 shots of the same location in different angles!
