Behind The Lens

Location

On a farm across from my house in Powhatan, Virginia.

Time

The Photo was taken at dusk as a Storm was approching from the west.

Lighting

Well I had to manually adjust the Shutter Speed to allow for the darkening skys. Started shooting at about an 8 sec exposure and ended with a 30 sec exposure over about a 30 Minute time frame.

Equipment

This was taken with a Nikon D5200, a 18 x 55mm Kit lens on a tripod.

Inspiration

I love storms and Lightning, so I decided to try shooting the Storm.

Editing

Well this shot is a 4 shot stacked image. With just a touch of color adjustment.

In my camera bag

At the time a D5200 and Kit lenses. But As of now I have a Nikon D800, Nikon D5200, Tamron 24-70mm f2.8, Sigma 70x200mm f2.8, Sigma 2x converter, Tamron 10x24 f3.5, Tamron 90mm 2.8 Macro 3 Nikon SB700 Speedlights...etc, etc.....

Feedback

As this was one of my first attemps basically timing of Mother Nature is the main concern and learning to make adjustments on the fly. Good Luck and Good Shooting!
