Location
This shot was taken in China on a river boat traveling on the Yangtze River heading towards Chongqing from Wuhan.Time
Taken at night as we traveled to, under, and past this bridge.Lighting
The only light came from the light bridge light show.Equipment
I used my Canon 5d Mark III with a Canon 16-35mm wide angle zoom set at f2.8 and 26mm. The shot was taken handheld and so I used 1/125 sec. shutter speed at ISO 2000.Inspiration
The bridge light show was so fascinating that I took several shots from different positions on the boat. This shot was off the back as we left the bridge. The colors in this part of the light cycle were the most striking.Editing
I did virtually no post-processing. I am sure that if I had been proficient at Lightroom then, I would have improved the shot.In my camera bag
My bag has my Canon 5d, 24-70mm f/2.8 lens, 16-35mm f/2.8 lens, and my 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. I have polarizing and graduated ND filters. I also have a 2x extender and a flash unit. Also carry a light travel tripod and cable release to minimize vibration.Feedback
Use the lowest ISO that you can get away with that allows a fast enough shutter speed to compensate for the motion from the boat and hand held shooting. Because the shot was taken on a river boat, a tripod may not have helped because the boat moves up and down some.
