As part of my personal challenge of trying to get to know the 35mm lens, I ventured out on a bike ride along the Flitch Way, which is a disused old railway branch line that connected Bishops Stortford on the Essex Hertfordshire border to Braintree in Essex, a line that was originally about 15 miles long. Today, because housing developments you can't cycle (or walk) the full length of the old branch line. I'm also not as fit as I'd like to be so I managed about 4 miles before returning. This was once a station on the branch line, called Bannister Green Halt.

Great image and interesting story. My maiden name was Bannister. I believe some of my ancestors came from this region.
