Behind The Lens

Location

This picture was taken at Sommersby falls not too far out of Newcastle in NSW. There was a minor hike involved in getting to this particular fall but well worth the walk.

Time

Was mid afternoon when I took the shot

Lighting

Was an overcast day so it took some time playing around with my ND filter to work out how long of an exposure I needed to get the shot I was after

Equipment

I was using a nikon D3300 with a 55 - 300ml lens on a tripod and an ND filter

Inspiration

I like waterfalls and was trying to get a picture I could print and hang as a feature on a wall at home

Editing

There was absolutely no editing done to this shot. No adjustments to contrast or anything.

In my camera bag

I usually have my 2 different lenses and a tripod with me whilst I am shooting

Feedback

Practice and not giving up until you get the shot you want. Also key to check the ND filter doesnt leave black streaks through your shot
