A young, wild orangutan dangles his lithe and sinewy body traversing a rope from a feeding station in the forest of Borneo. At the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre rescued and-or orphaned (from illegal wildlife trade, logging or deforestation) orangutans are carefully and gradually rehabilitated and trained to return to the forest and become independent and wild again. Although this youngster was never under their care, his rehabilitated mother occasionally returns to one of the more remote feeding stations for extra nourishment and has not fully achieved total independence.
