Location
It was on a beautifully scenic drive along the coast of Greece to visit the TEMPLE OF POSEIDON (God of the sea) at Cape Sounio overlooking the Aegean Sea!Time
Mid afternoon.Lighting
Not the greatest time of day for photography but a bright, clear, azure blue sky and sea day. Wonderful clarity especially with the sunlight brightening the columns where you could almost feel the ancient textures of these columns. The sun brightening the Temple of Poseidon (Neptune in the Roman equivalent) made the overall scene quite paste-like!Equipment
Canon EOS 5D Mark III with an EF 24-105mm f/4L IS zoom lens. No tripod or flash.Inspiration
As a passionate world travel photographer seeking this magnificent Temple of the Sea God at the end of such a picturesque promontory overlooking the Aegean Sea, well.......!Editing
I always do a little post processing on a good image to simply make it better. Cropping, of course. A little brightening, illuminance helped with this almost pastel scene. In my camera bag
An iPhone X camera phone for unallowed entries and unallowed camera/flash use such as in cathedrals, museums, etc. and my Canon 5D with an all around versatile EF 24-105mm f/4L IS zoom lens.Feedback
I’ve learned that some post processing will never transform a mediocre image into a good one, but it can always make a good photo great! All stunning views and vistas will grab you by the camera, but distinguishing an image capture from a snapshot is in the angle, perspective and interesting lighting. The more you shoot, the more your eye will begin to see things differently. Even the mundane, seemingly uninteresting objects, scenes can be made to be captivating in some way. Have fun with it!
