Congratulations on being the winner of my Still Life Challenge. I was really torn between yours and one other image, but picked this image because everything worked. The colors go well together and the arrangement of all your elements are perfect.

I took this photo at home in my studio.Time
I do not remember the time of day off-hand. I would need to look at the exif data. The light used for this image was a mix of ambient room light along with a continuous lamp at 45 degrees to camera left.Lighting
I used a continuous light lamp with 4 daylight lamps, at 45 degrees to camera left, iso 500 and a slow shutter speed of 1 / 20 to let in some ambient light. Nowadays iso 500 sounds very low, but the 5d is an older camera and iso 500 would seem relatively high on it. It does not have the amazing noise reducing technology that today's cameras offer.Equipment
I used my canon 5d and 24-105 kit lens. The camera was mounted on a tripod due to the slow speed of 1 / 20. I used a small aperture of 20 for all over sharpness to the image. For the background I used a hand painted backdrop. This was draped to also cover the tabletop.Inspiration
I love all still life art. My biggest inspirations are the Flemish Masters of old. In this case I was also inspired by the fresh fruit. It seemed such a pity to consume it without first recording its beauty.Editing
The post processing in this image was as minimal as it can get. I mainly used levels to boost colour and contrast, and did some post sharpening. The image was cropped in camera. In my camera bag
I carry the least possible equipment that will get the job done. I am not one for carrying heavy burdens on my back these days. That was in the past!Feedback
When setting up objects for still life, always aim for harmony and balance, unless your aim is the opposite. Observe how objects are throwing shadows or reflections on to their neighbors. Be careful of items upstaging on another, unless it is your intention. Experiment and change things around. Take your time and enjoy it!
