This image is taken on the Armenian Street, Penang, which is located within the city's UNESCO World Heritage Site, the road has gained popularity in recent years for its rich cultural offerings. This Armenian Street Art is combined two dimensional wall art by the Lithuanian artist Ernest Zacharevic with the three dimensional bamboo steamer on the trishaw by the local artists. This street art truly reflects the daily Chinese culture and life in the early days in Penang, a very hardworking humble Chinese hawker was selling steam buns in the bamboo steamer on the trishaw from home to home, stopped at the corner on the roadside for a while to wait for the customers under the sun or in the rain.

Location
This image was taken on the Armenian Street, Penang, which is located within the city's UNESCO World Heritage Site, the road has gained popularity in recent years for its rich cultural offerings.Time
It was on February 11, 2014, I took a coach and a ferry to Penang Island, I wanted to tell the story about Penang historical walk in Armenian Street. When I arrived there was about 9am, it was just 30 minutes walk from the jetty. After strolling along the Armenian Street, I stopped the spot to take the photo around 10am.Lighting
I took this picture with natural light, I just wanted everything to be natural without any filter.Equipment
The picture was shot on a travel compact Canon PowerShot SX160 IS with 16x optical zoom lens which I borrowed from a friend who worked in a camera shop for me to have a 'test-drive' without any tripod or others.Inspiration
I wanted to tell the story about Penang heritage so I chose a few historical spots. Armenian Street is one of the Penang Heritage which is located within the city's UNESCO World Heritage Site and not far from the jetty. This Armenian Street Art is combined two dimensional wall art by the Lithuanian artist Ernest Zacharevic with the three dimensional bamboo steamer on the trishaw by the local artists. This street art truly reflects the daily Chinese culture and life in the early days in Penang, a very hardworking humble Chinese hawker was selling steam buns in the bamboo steamer on the trishaw from home to home, stopped at the corner on the roadside for a while to wait for the customers under the sun or in the rain.Editing
I use very simple post-processing to add the color tone, nothing else.In my camera bag
I am a light traveler, I just have my Samsung NX2000 with 20-50mm F3.5-5.6 Lens and 50-200mm F4-5.6 Lens and a compact Olympus Stylus VG-180 16-Megapixel 5X 26mm Wide Optical Zoom.Feedback
Do your research about the locations and the cultures you want to shoot and be prepared to have a pair of comfortable shoes because you need to walk a lot.
