Great capture, I love the dog too. We used to have a Lab, but he was brown.

Location
This photo was taken while on vacation in Rockwood Pennsylvania. This is my brother-in-law's dog Sage. I am mostly a self taught photographer that has taken a few classes at our local state college.Time
This is by far one of my best images of Sage. This was a snowy afternoon in PA. I woke up that day to the ground being covered in about 3 feet of snow. Since I live in Arkansas I was excited and starting taking pictures. This was a snapshot of Sage in the yard playing in the snow, it was around 2pm with full cloud cover.Lighting
The lighting here was a cloudy day, with very gray colors.Equipment
This was shot with a Sony a77ii with 50mm lens.Inspiration
I was out trying to get some good macro photos of snowflakes and looked up and saw the dog trying to catch the snow in its mouth. It was just a fun moment and I thought I needed to capture it for the owner.Editing
I did not have to do much post-processing. I shoot in raw, so I just went in and adjusted the coloring a little before turning it to a black and white photo. In my camera bag
In my bag, I always have my Sony a77ii with me along with a 35mm lens, a 50mm lens and a zoom lens. I carry extra batteries, lens cleaner, and notes about the session I am on.Feedback
Photography takes patience when dealing with animals. Have the patience to just wait for the moment and also be aware of your surroundings. You never know when that "special moment" may pop up so be ready to adjust quickly so you can capture it!
