Location
This was taken in a pop-up studio at the Camera Club I run.Time
A evening session with 20 local amateur photographers and several freinds as modelsLighting
This session was showing the club members how different lighting techniques can change the dynamics of a portrait. We used a simple two light setup to add depth. Reflectors were also used to fill in shadows.Equipment
Canon 6D, 70-200L II, handheld with Rotolight Anova Pro.Inspiration
I have had a passion for photography for many years, and looked for a club to share and learn. No local club gave practical advice, so I set my own up. Jacob is an actor friend of a freind who was willing to sit for us.Editing
Post processing was achieved using Adobe Lightroom. Jacob is a good looking lad, so not much was needed. A slight colour cast was added along with some clarity to bring out the shape and form of his features. In my camera bag
I'm a Canon man, so a 6D is normally in the bag. I love my 16-35Lii for landscapes. 70-200L ii for portraits and weddings. Manfrotto 190 Go can normally be found atatched to my bag. I take too much sometimes, so filters are packed and a Canon 600EX-RT flash with Phottix triggers.Feedback
Portraits are all about the model and how they are feeling at the time. I try to instill a sense of feeling in my portraits. Asking questions and then listening to models can often allow them to go places in their head that bring out an expression rerely seen. We chatted about a lot of things, and this shot seemed to encompass Jacob's character.
