Location
This photo was taken in Kolgrafafjörður Iceland on a cold winter morning. I was driving with my son from Grundarfjörður to Reykjavík and as we drove by this magnificent sunrise we had to pull over en snap this photo.Time
The time was just past 11 in the morning on january 3 2018. The winter sun in Iceland rises very late and the days are short and dark. But sometimes when the conditions are right you can get an amazing scenery like this.Lighting
The lighting was very soft and beautiful. This picture is shot in F/5.6 and 1/160 ISO 800.Equipment
I shot this handheld on my Canon EOS 5D Mark IV with Canon EF16-35mm f/2.8L II USM lens.Inspiration
The scenery was so magnificent that I had to pull over and take this photo. I was not on a photo mission as I was cruisin to Reykjavík with my son. But fortunately my equipment was in the car in case of a scenery like this.Editing
I usually do a little post processing in lightroom and photoshop but nothing out of the ordinary. In my camera bag
I have a Canon EOS 5D Mark IV and a Canon EOS 1D Mark II. Canon EF16-35mm F/2.8L II USM, Canon EF 70-200mm f/2,8 L IS II USM, Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L II USM, Carl Zeiss 50mm f/1.4 Planar ZE, Carl Zeiss Distagon T* f/2.8 21mm ZE and Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 for Canon EF. Two Manfrotto tripods and two speedlites.Feedback
Just be alert during sunrise and sunset hours. The scenery can change quickly when the sun is in the golden hour.
