Location
This photo was taken near Fort Point in California. It was morning, but there were still many tourists viewing the bridge.Time
It was around 8:30-9am in the morning on a Tuesday morning. We wanted to get there during a time that we hoped would be quieter and there still be fog. During the 10 minutes of us visiting, the fog went from completely covering the bridge to almost completely burning off.Lighting
It was in the morning, but several hours past sunrise.Equipment
For this shot, I went fairly basic. I used my Nikon D5300 with my 18-55mm lens. I didn't use a flash or a tripod. I had my camera manually set for an aperture of F/6.3, ISO of 100, Shutter speed of 1/1600, and focal length of 180/10.Inspiration
I've always seen such amazing shots of the Golden Gate. It almost seems like a requirement for photographers to take a similar photo. My mom and Aunt grew up in Modesto and San Francisco, so they wanted to take advantage of showing me their city and landmarks of it.Editing
I always photograph in .raw and import them into lightroom. I never really use photoshop for my photos. For this one, I increased the contrast and flipped it to black and white. That contrast really helped the fog stand out.In my camera bag
I always have my D5300 camera body, 18-55mm lens, 55-300 lens, and 55-200 lens. I also keep 8 memory cards in my bag, as well as 4 batteries and 2 chargers.Feedback
