Behind The Lens
Location
This was taken at our backyard one morning. It rained the night before and morning dew were clinging on the leaves.Time
It was between 7 and 8 in the morning of December 19, 2017. While it was raining the night before this shoot, the sun was shining enough to create flares on the dew at our backyard vegetation,Lighting
The yard was surrounded by concrete walls that limits the morning light. I opted not to fire the flash because I wanted a darker background that day. So I have to wait for the sunrise to peep just a little bit above the wall to bring some light reflections just behind the leaf, and get that flares in the dew.Equipment
Canon 80D, EFS 50mm 1.8 STM, no flash, handheld, post processing was done using Lightroom5. Note that the picture was cropped as I do not have a macro lens to capture close up details.Inspiration
I wanted to capture subjects at close range that morning. But without macro lens I have to make sure that I use the lens available to me in capture certain details despite limitations. This inspires me to try harder, learn, and push further what the gadgets can provide on certain scenarios. I was already expecting to do some cropping during post process in Lightroom5.Editing
Yes, I do post processing in Lightroom for all my photographs. With Canon 80D I convert it first to DNG to be processed in LR5. I edited the excess leaves to have the minimalist effect and darken the background for my choice of contrast against the lights on the leaf.In my camera bag
After sometime I began to collect items that I need as I learned from the mistakes that I made while doing photography as a hobby. Now I have a Canon 80D and Rebel T5, a kitlens 18-55mm, a 55-200mm lens, the Canon nifty fifty lens, variable ND, CPL, UV filters, Canon Speedlite, and remote timer.Feedback
I think it is more on my persistence to work within the limitations of the gadgets that are available at my hand at the moment. Make the most of what the available lens can do for you. Equally important is what your heart and soul desired capture while you are behind the lens.
