The Thomas Fire smoke clouds have drifted above most of Morro Bay. It is getting dark and I first thought that the lights were on on the buildings on the hills to the south. But then I realized that they were just reflecting the sky from the cloud free area north of Morro Bay. In another 30m the smoke clouds drifted further north and this phenomena dimmed away.

The picture series this week, Fireskies, are from a recent visit to Morro Bay. On one of the days there the smoke cloud from the Thomas fire rolled over Morro Bay. These images were taken then.
These pictures have NO saturation or vibrance slider adjustments. The are full color pictures, not a sepia or similar conversion. This is what, as close as I could image it, the land, water and sky actually looked like.
