Beam Me Up!

Again I am going through some more older images from a night at Big Chute, Ontario, Canada while I was put exploring for new foregrounds. The goal for this night was to capture a panoramic image of the marine railway which I did capture, process and posted a long time ago. Once going back through the folder I found this image that I completely forgot all about and was like, are you kidding me, why did I not process this image yet!!! It wasn't easy to capture this image by myself as I wanted this certain ring of light around me without having the main source of light being in the frame. I remember turning the corner to see the Milky Way galactic core sitting ever so nicely over the road so I had to pull over. I setup with the light at my feet, pointed in an upward direction with a defuser and kept running back and forth to my camera, leaving the light in position to remember exactly where I was. Each time I would run back to check exposure and position trying and trying to capture the image in my mind. I could easily make a composite but I prefer to get the best image possible in camera and without having two different locations-exposures blended to one. This is a single exposure image processed in Lr and Ps. I did the first process in Lr to get the image close to the desired effect, then into PsCC to layer mask which allowed me to pull the data out to make the Milky Way pop. Once saved it loads right back into Lightroom where I did the final process of adding vignetting and some clarity to the roadway. So much fun to be had at night! ???? I hope the weather cooperates for Geminid meteor shower on the 13-14th. Happy shooting everyone!
