A beautiful pine butterfly proudly struts her stuff on a lovely summer day near Pine Valley Reservoir in southern Utah. She calmly posed at several different angles and didn't seem to be in a rush at all, nor did she seemed concerned that I was hanging around so long. She even graciously lifted her wing slightly to reveal the golden highlights underneath.

I love to talk to my subjects, whether they're human, animal, or vegetation (I know: that's just weird), and I'm often pleased with the results when they seem calm and trusting, as in this case.
