Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken in downtown Waukesha, WI. It is one of several pillars holding up the roof on the old train/bus waiting area.Time
I love to take early morning walks. I live only a couple blocks out of downtown, so I'll stroll in for some coffee and always take my camera with me. This particular site gets the first of the early morning sun and light play.Lighting
Natural light can be temperamental, but, it is awesome when it hits. Be patient for the right moment!Equipment
I only had my Nikon on me at the time. It was a 3200 then with a telephoto 70-300 lens.Inspiration
Every year the city repaints these pillars and they have been all sorts of colors. I felt this choice was the most vintage looking and it moved me to think outside the box on the angel of the photo.Editing
I do all of my post processing in Corel Paintshop Pro. This photo didn't need too much, but I did add a tone mapping filter to pop the subtle difference in the colors and the dirtiness of the structure. In my camera bag
I always carry my Nikon 7200 along with the standard lens and a telephoto 70-300. I also have a 8 pt star, UV and a couple other filters.Feedback
