I chase this owl all over a mountain for about an hour. I finally caught up with him as he landed just over a little hill. He look at me as to say take your shot and that is enough LOL . He let me take 3 shot and flew away. And I was way to tired to chase any more.

It was about 1 in the after noon I think. I chase this owl all over a mountain for about an hour. I finally caught up with him as he landed just over a little hill. I move up to the hill slowly and look over it. He was sitting there about 6 feet from me. He look at me as to say well take your shot and that is enough LOL He let me take 3 shot and flew away. And I was to tired to chase him any more.Lighting
I believed it was over cast that day. The light was really nice and diffused.Equipment

I love nature. And living in Montana inspires me to do a lot of nature shots. Montana has some of the most beautiful places in the world. From Yellowstone in the south. To Glacier National Park to the north. And I live in the middle of both of the. About a 3 hr drive. So you can't help but be inspired by nature.Editing
This one I think I got lucky on. I did not have to do a lot to the shot. I just tightened it up a little. I think the camera gods was being good to me for once lol.In my camera bag

My grandmother gave me a Mamiya C330 box camera and 4 roles of film when I was 10 years old. ( Wish I still had that camera ) I took photos of every thing. And I got the bug. And I fell in love with photography. The world around us is a photograph. We just take pieces out with are camera. Some of my favorite photos was at the spur of the moment. You don't need to go to school to get great photos like this. And you don't need a really expensive camera ether. You just need to shoot what feel right. To me Photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in the ordinary place. If you see something that moves you, and then snap it, you keep the moment. My rule of thumb is if you take 1000 shots and get 10 great shots or more you scored.
