Bom Bom Islet, Principe
It’s the beginning of the rainy season and thus the weather is very unpredictable and a day can start with a blue sky and end with torrential rain and then later change to a starry sky. But a starry sky early at night is by no means any indication of the weather at sunrise – most often it will have changed yet again.
No weather forecaster is able to predict the weather here in Principe either as the weather is so localized. So the best and commonly used method is a phone call to someone in the area you want to go to, and if the weather is great it’s a thumbs up to go there. It’s no use utilizing your eyes, as behind a curtain of rain it might be sunny – which I did experience many times.
I love how technology and commonly used methods are really of no use here – you simply have to wait and see how the weather is and then act on it.
This evening looked very promising and I hoped for colorful clouds, but instead of opening up, the clouds were growing and covering all but these small gaps, making the sunset a very grey affair. Except for the tiny opening in the horizon, and the dead leaf delivered by the ocean.
Other sunsets here were rainy, so I think a capture of greyness is much better than nothing at all.
