Hi all, this image was Taken in Truro, EnglandTime
This was taken on my Photography club weekly meet, we meet on Wednesday evenings between 1900-2100hrs, so this would have been taken around 2000hrs. We run a 50 weeks a year programme, and this particular night was a local field trip to Truro and it was decided to arrange for a local model to come along with us.Lighting
This was purely one of those right time right place shots that i was lucky to get. It was a few weeks before Christmas when the image was taken and in one of the main streets of Truro they were putting up the Christmas light's. They laid them out on the ground turned them on to test them then started lifting and fitting them in place, they started furthest away from where we were at the time and started working towards us so we had to grab what we could there was no time to pose people for ages and try different things as the lights started to go up quite quickly so it was bit of a lucky shotEquipment
I think if memory serves me i used my Canon 60d with the Nifty fifty F1.8 fitted. Chose that set up as it was light to carry and with big aperature lens it lets more light in and you can get higher shutter speeds and it is also a really sharp lens and probably the best value lens money can buy (£100ish) optics are great it's just in a plastic housingInspiration
The thought was to try and get the lights blurred out with the bokeh effect in the image, again there wasn't much time to shoot hundreds of shots until you got what you wanted it was time limited to minutes and several people from the club had to shoot, not just myselfEditing
didn't really do a lot that i can remember, may have pulled a couple sliders around a bit but nothing majorIn my camera bag
this depends what i'm doing i shoot a lot of action stuff so sometimes i use my 7d2 with the 70-200 f2.8 on it or my 300mm F4, then on my 60d i usually leave my 24-105mm f4 on it so i get stuff close up covered and a fair distance away. if i go out to do landscape type stuff i put my 10-20mm on the 60d, and leave the 24-105 on the 7d2. I usually keep some nd filters and a polariser on my and carry a tripodFeedback
Best thing i did was join a local club a few years ago with like minded people who enjoy the same thing, makes it good fun going out and you learn more from each other
