Location
This photo was taken in Bushkill Pennsylvania at one of my favorite state parks.Time
I believe it was about noon on a gorgeous summer day.Lighting
The lighting was completely natural, which made for some interesting shadows across the path.Equipment
For this shot I set up a tripod with my canon 70D on it. But most importantly my beloved 50mm 1.4f prime lens!Inspiration
I was just feeling creative and saw some balloons while at the grocery store. And somehow came up with this idea.Editing
There are actually two photos featured here. One of just the background and one with my friend holding the balloons while sitting down. Then I removed everything but the balloons from the second photo and layered them together. Finally I muted the saturation a tad for a more moody final product. In my camera bag
Typically I travel with my canon 70D and a handful of different lenses. And I always have a speedlite or two with me, just in case.Feedback
I’d say just mess with your camera, long exposures and experimental lighting have taught me a lot of what I know today. Don’t be afraid to take some time and experiment a little!
