Behind The Lens

Location

My backyard in Oklahoma.

Time

9:34 AM, November 29, 2017

Lighting

Colorful autumn leaves bokeh.

Equipment

Panasonic DC-ZS70 with Leica 30x lens, shot at 720mm (35mm equiv.), f/6.4, 1/125 sec, ISO 160, RAW 23.1MB.

Inspiration

Carolina Wrens are in my yard year round. I look for any opportunity to capture a nice image of one.

Editing

I use Photoshop elements to adjust the raw picture parameters to my satisfaction, and then crop the result and save the JPEG image.

In my camera bag

A lot of my bird pics and other long lens shots are taken with a Fujifilm 1000mm FinePix that I keep at the ready near a back window. In addition to the Panasonic DC-ZS70, I will carry either a Sony Alpha A7 II full frame, or a Fujifilm XT-30 normally with a 18-135mm XF lens. The Fujifilm has become my favorite camera because of the light weight and great pictures and video it can produce.

Feedback

You don't have to go to exotic locations to find great pictures. Look around your close environment and wait for opportunities.
