Cormorant fishing has been a tradition in Asia since the 10th century. this photo of a cormorant bird making a call captures that relationship in a new way. in highlighting the bird instead of the fisherman, it really draws out the beautiful and modest relationship between mankind and nature. I took this shot right off the ground to catch the full Karst topography in the backdrop. right then the fisherman made a move to the back of the boat and the cormorant made its call. Perfect.
