this is absolutely amazing, lovely and dreamy minimalism! Brilliant! Try to do one of the upright crop of that lonely tree and misty lake, so you get two brilliant shots out of the same capture.

Behind The Lens

Location

I took this shot at Loch Awe. Kilchurn Castle is just to the left but it was the mist at the end of the loch that caught my eye.

Time

It was early morning and freezing cold. Frost lying on the ground.

Lighting

The sun hadn’t quite got up but the calm water and the bank of fog reflecting on it made it look so beautiful.

Equipment

I think I was using my Sony 580 when I took this shot. I am pretty sure I was using a 10-20 mm Sigma. Great lens.

Inspiration

The calm flat water and the moving bank of mist was stunning.

Editing

Not much at all other than convert to B&W and crop it.

In my camera bag

I shoot Sony, always have. I have one lens that isn’t a Sony and it’s my trusty Tamron 70-300 f4

Feedback

Get up early. See the shot then wait for the magic to happen.
