I love the colors of this lovely rose. The center subject is balanced by the delicate curve of the rose as it's top heavy with the bloom. The fall leaves of the Japanese Maple add a nice compliment to the background.

Behind The Lens

Location

At times I walk my neighborhood for exercise and shooting. Only a block away is a lovely wrought iron fence with a yellow rose bush planted next to a Japanese Maple. The colors of both at their peak form the setting for this subject. The delicate bend of the stem with the weight of the flower adds interesting movement. The shallow depth of field really sets the front subject apart from the background space.

Yes, I use Lightroom. I enhanced the depth of field with filters and tweaked quite a bit. The heavy hand built on the inherent beauty of the subject.
