I love this! Great leading lines, nice shadows, the sun rays are perfect, etc. It's a heavenly scene.

Thanks! I really lucked out catching this shot... I was driving through on my way to a nearby farm for a few sunset photos and, as I went around the curve, I saw this in the rearview mirror. I slammed on the brakes and almost "parked" my jeep in the gulley at the bottom right of the image trying to capture this before it disappeared! lol!

Location
This photo was taken on a backroad near an old farm in Mountville, SC. The little town of Mountville is mainly farms and pastures connected by country backroads, so it's always a great place to plan a landscape photo.Time

This is one of my all-time favorite photos, if for no other reason than the sheer luck I had to capture it. I was out at an old farm trying to catch a nice fall photo during/after a rainstorm had rolled through. I wasn't having any luck with the lighting there and felt my images were mediocre at best, so I decided to pack up and leave. As I drove away, I glanced in the rearview mirror and saw the sun starting to peak through the clouds and glisten off of the wet leaves. I slammed on the brakes (and almost landed my car in a ditch), jumped out, and slid through the mud trying to get into a good position.... Sun rays never last more than a minute or two, so I knew I didn't have time to waste. Seconds after taking this photo, the sun disappeared behind the clouds and the backroad was dark and gloomy again. The entire experience from car to photo didn't last more than two minutes, but it was quite possibly the best two minutes of my camera-holding life!Equipment
Nikon D5600 with 18mm-55mm kit lens. Shot at 52mm, 1/50sec, f/10, ISO 100.Inspiration
The sun rays shining through the autumn leaves was what really caught my attention.Editing

Normally, I travel light when it comes to camera gear. I keep a small sling bag with a Nikon D810, Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 16mm-35mm f/4G ED VR lens, and a Nikon AF-S FX NIKKOR 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED lens. I keep a Manfrotto Element MII aluminum tripod strapped to the bag just in case.Feedback
Always follow the weather! Some of the best photos I've taken have been just after the rain stopped. Cloudy/rainy days in the woods seem to produce the most moving images for me. You get a very distinct type of light when the sun is diffused by strong cloud cover, and when the environment is sprinkled with raindrops.
