My husband, Ted Reese, had always dreamed of building a small log hut. When we found our dream property, he went to work on it. He chose this spot because it had a clearing so he wouldn't have to cut down trees and it was a great location to hunt from. Ted planned on camping there once the hut was finished. With help, he hauled the logs up hills to the spot. He notched the logs at the corners to fit them in. He had just finished putting the roof on when he slipped and broke his ankle. He died four weeks later.
Whenever I go out back, I stop at the hut and talk to Ted. I like to think he's there, listening to me.
