Thanks mate, you have a great gallery! Wish I could travel as much as you do. This place in Thailand is amazing, you should mark it on your "places to visit" list :)

Location
The photo was taken during some holidays, on a trip to Thailand. Visiting Khao Sok Lake was one of the best experiences of the trip. We were brought by boat to this location of floating raft houses, where we had lunch and swam in the lake. The landscape was just so amazing.Time
This was taken mid-day more or less, the cloudy sky helped in that sense, since there was no harsh light for that time of the day.Lighting
The partially cloudy sky provided volume to the mountains since some of them were in shadows while others were hit by the sun.Equipment
My equipment and knowledge on photography at the time were limited. This being a holyday trip I wasn't carrying a tripod so I shoot this handheld. My lens wasn't wide enough, so I took multiple shots that I stiched togheter later at home.Inspiration
The beauty of the scene, with an almost perfect reflection, capture my eye immediately. The moment, the light, everything was perfect for the shot.Editing
I did some heavy post processing in two ways: firstly, i had to stitch several raw files togheter to get the wider view, I even had to clone some part of the sky. I also gave it a try to my first time stacking edit: having several shots, after aligning the files, I could take parts of the shot where the sun was hitting the hill, making it more appealing. In my camera bag
When I move around in my country, I usually carry a lot more equipment. This being an international trip with a girlfriend, I chose to travel light. Since we were going to be hiking and also travel in a small boat, I only brought the 17-40 with me, and no tripod.Feedback
Keep an eye open for unexpected beautiful scenes. Even if you do not have all the gear you whish, try to make the best of what you have in hand. It might not be so perfect, but it is still a lot better than no picture at all.
