Location
This photo was taken in Rexburg, Idaho while taking a stroll through the BYU-Idaho campus gardens. A real piece of serendipity since most of this part of Idaho is potato farms as far as the eye can see.Time
Had such fun taking as many photos as I could in these gardens before the sun went down.Lighting
The low light in the hour before sunset created the perfect natural lighting so nothing was over exposed, yet everything was illuminated perfectly. I don’t remember needing to edit this photo.Equipment
With my first camera given at graduation, a canon rebel t3i. A basic DSLR (by today’s standards) coupled with a Sigma EX 70mm f/2.8 macro lens and standing on my tippy toes.Inspiration
Im a man of opportunity as well as a sucker for flowers, and seeing this piece of serenity in the middle of an otherwise boring part of the state brought on pure joy... or maybe that was the flavored oxygen?Editing
With the natural lighting and nature of the photo I didn’t have to process anything except maybe slight color improvement. In my camera bag
I have (now) my canon 70D body, with a Bower fisheye lens, tamron 24-70mm, Sigma 70mm macro, with filters, lens cloths, and a remote with a feel for different lens companies and a variety of landscape shots.Feedback
Grab your camera, take a walk, and capture the moments you feel joy in seeing something. Can be anywhere in the world and especially where you least expect it.
