Incredible composition... love the interests in the foreground and background. Great long exposure... What is the line on the bottom right part of the waterfall? Is that from the long exposure or stitching the two exposures together?

Thanks so much Sarah, aside from the branch that's sitting there, it's just water bouncing off from it due to the long exposure. It is one shot but edited in lightroom :)

Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken at Carlingford NSW Australia. Its called Balaka falls and it's my go to place after a good downpour or when i don't feel like traveling too far.

Time

This was taken in the early morning.

Lighting

I wanted the image to be dark and moody so i added a filter to my lens to enhance that effect.

Equipment

Canon 5D mark 3, 16-35mm wide angle lens, polarized filter and tripod to get that long exposure effect.

Inspiration

I love waterfalls and this time round i wanted something different to my other shots. Cold, dark and moody were the three main subjects that were going through my head while i was taking this shot.

Editing

Yes, I need to darken the image up more without loosing the light from the waterfall. i also applied a slight blue filer to it to give that cold world feel to it.

In my camera bag

Depending on what i plan on shooting will depend on what i take with me. Usually its Sony AR72 camera and my canon wide angle lens. gradient filters, tripod and a camera remote. Sometimes the 50mm prime lens (Sony) and a lensball.

Feedback

Im always looking around for foreground elements that will make my image standout, you'll never know what compositions you get out of them.
