Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken off the beaten path out of Paradise. Mount Rainier National Park, Washington.

Time

This photo was taken around 3pm on a Wednesday. Midweek is always the way to go, to get away from the weekend warriors. I had spent most of the day hiking, looking for a private place to spend my afternoon connecting with the mountain and the universe.

Lighting

Giving the brightness of the sun that day, it took awhile to find an angle that didn't leave the whole scene washed out.

Equipment

This was shot with a Nikon D3600 and a 18-55mm lens. Gently placed on a blanket, as to not get lost in the grass.

Inspiration

To inspire others to feel the quiet connectedness of the sun on your face, the gentle breeze on your skin, the grass beneath your body, the textures of flowers on your finger tips, the awe inspiring site of Mt Rainier to gaze upon. Embrace yourself. Be at one with the all, if only for a moment.

Editing

No.

In my camera bag

Extra battery, 300mm lens, 18-55mm lens, micro and macro lens, lens wipes, shammy, color filters, battery charger with adapter, extra SD cards, water bottle, snacks.

Feedback

I recommend parking at Paradise, on a Tuesday or Wednesday to get away from the crowds. Hike out towards the mountain, then go off trail and find a secluded glen. Be quiet with yourself. Clothing optional.
