For her to move on.
It was when she found herself drunkenly crying in some stranger's bathroom in a random afternoon, begging a god she did not even believe in for a sign. The bell was the moment she thought to herself "what more sign do you need?". It was an enlightenment of some sort. She looked around as the sobbing slowed down. She thought about the people upstairs. They were waiting for her. More of eveything in life was waiting for her to stop crying and come find them. It was the bell, it was the sign to move on. It was when she got up and walked out of there.
And she's never cried since.
