Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in the biggest park of my home city - Sofia. This was my first photo shoot with this amazing model

Time

It was just before sunset in October.

Lighting

There was yet enough natural light. I positioned the model to be back / side lit for even yet sculpting effect.

Equipment

I was using my Fuji X-T1 @ ISO 800 with my favorite XF 35mm F1.4 R @ f2.

Inspiration

The beauty of the model and the autumn in the park came into combination to inspire this composition. Although she has amazing eyes we made couple of frames with closed eyes and that turned to be one of the best pictures from the day because of the mood and tenderness.

Editing

There is almost no post-processing, just few skin retouching strokes and conversion to B&W.

In my camera bag

My bag became considerably lighter since I shoot Fuji :) This enables me to have almost at all times aside the XF18-55mmF2.8-4 R LM OIS, also XF10-24mmF4 R OIS, XF 35mm F1.4 R and in many cases the XF55-200mmF3.5-4.8 R LM OIS, which BTW is very good for portraits. At this shot I had also my vintage Helios-44-M4 .

Feedback

A good communication with the model and tuning on the same wavelength are key for portrait shoots I believe.
