Behind The Lens

Location

This image was shot on a walk across America Farm in Nottinghamshire on a very snowy day. The snow had stopped at the time

Time

Our photo club has a walk on every Wednesday. This shot was taken at around 1pm if I remember correctly. The sun was very low in the sky as it was January 2013

Lighting

My aim was to get the sun behind the tree and capture the rays through the tree. It did not quite work out until I added detail extraction and there it was.

Equipment

Hand held Nikon 1 J1 with 10-30 mm lens. I took several shots .

Inspiration

I have seen many pictures of the suns rays through trees and so I decided I would try it

Editing

The usual crop and I used detail extraction in NIK Software

In my camera bag

Noramlly a Nikon D800 with a 28-300mm Lens. Thus day I decided as it was a long walk i would cut the weight down and took my Nikkon 1 J1 I had at the time now upgraded toa J5

Feedback

Take a few shots not just the one and bracket if you can
