Sometimes, when I haven't shot in a while, I'll find something simple to shoot just to get some shutter clicks in. Last autumn, after purchasing a new Lensbaby Velvet, I decided to see how well it played with Nikon's R1C1 macro lighting system. So, I bought a bouquet of flowers at the local supermarket. Then, instead of discarding them when I finished, I removed their water source and let them wilt and desiccate for two weeks. Once they were good and dry, I came back to them with the same lens and light combo. Honestly speaking, I was much more satisfied with the decayed photos than the healthy ones.
