These trees lived 200 million years ago. Since then the continental drift took these trees that were once at the equator and over time brought them to their current location in Arizona. I saw this one tree that looked like it had been cut and ready to be split into fire wood. This wood can weight up to 200 Lbs per cubic foot. It has a hardness of 7.8 on the 10 on the Mohs scale that measures scratch resistance. The colors the minerals in the silica-saturated water.
