This photo was taken in our garden, with a black paper background. Daisy's owner pored some water on her, so she would shake it of. Strangely, the dog had the urge to always move away a few meters before shaking, which made the lighting a bit more difficult. I was lying on the ground a few meters in front of the dog and she seemed to take pleasure in first coming to me and then shake the water all over me and my camera.Time
We had friends over for dinner and they brought their dog Daisy, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever. Around dinner we went into the garden, set up two flashes and the background.Lighting
I used two radio-triggered battery-driven studio flashes in the dark at reduced power to freeze the motion.Equipment
The flashes I used were two radio-triggered Jinbei HD600v, a Nikon D800 with a Nikon 1.8 85mm.Inspiration
I'm fascinated by how loose skin can be attached to a skull. It can happen that the soft part of a face is in a completely different orientation than the skull, which becomes visible in this photo.Editing
Some light fell on the background, so I reduced the exposure there. In my camera bag
Nikon D800, Nikon 85mm, Tamron 24-70, Tamron 70-200, radiotriggers, batteries, model releases.Feedback
Make sure the dog enjoys it too! She knew there were some treats in it for her and she did not mind having some water pored over her.
