From the moment I first picked up a camera and started photographing nature, I have always kept my eyes on the ground around me. Over the years, many of my favorite images are of things laying on the ground such as this one which is one of the very first images I shot. It was taken with a Pentax K-100 SLR on Kodak Ektachrome color transparency film at Minneoppa State Park in MN. And though it was taken nearly 40 years ago, I can still vividly recall taking the shot.
