It's hard for me to get a really good 'standard' "macro" image with my cameras up to this latest one. In order to 'fake' it, I have to set my zoom to what the back screen shows me is about 2.3x -- 5.7x. This allows me to get closer than the 'macro' function on the camera functions (that little 'flower' image) with sharper focus in Manual mode (and more light control as well) with my little point and shoots.

I took this image about two and a half inches away from my subject, I believe it was. Maybe three inches, though very close. Most animals don't allow me to get that close and it just so happened I had been sitting there first, so...
