Location
This was taken on my back deck in Annapolis, MD, USA.Time
Mid-day shortly after noon.Lighting
I just used the available natural light.Equipment
I shot this with my Canon 6D on a Manfrotto 190X with a ball head. The lens used was my Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM.Inspiration
I had been watching this orb weaver build webs all over my deck for days. It eventually crawled into a piece of square tubing I had leftover from a project to hide during the day. That's when I grabbed my macro lens and took this creepy shot. I didn't realize I captured the reflection until I saw it on my computer.Editing
I pulled the raw file off the memory card and opened it in Photoshop CC. That opened Camera Raw and I hit open, saved it as a .jpg and posted it.In my camera bag
My bag is very light now. 1 camera body and 24-70mm, 70-200mm and 100mm macro lenses. Sometimes I'll take a flash.Feedback
Patience is key when working with other living things. Observing their world and learning their actions and habits takes time but can be very rewarding.
